To Austin to View the Allegro

Each year American Innovations, a partner company in the US, hosts a User Group Conference highlighting some of advances made in the corrosion monitoring and analysis industry. And this year CPCL’s Chris Martin and Chris Pimm, from the Field Services team, attended the event from 26-29 October held at the AT&T Centre in Austin, Texas.

“The Users Group Conference is a great opportunity to share knowledge and discover how others are solving their most challenging issues,” explained Chris Martin. “Through field trips and lectures the attendees reviewed CP field testing techniques and best practice, as well as pipeline data collection, management and analysis issues.”

The wide ranging presentations covered induced AC corrosion, CP measurements, CP best practices and training on AI’s remote monitoring, PCS, and Allegro systems. The ‘meet the doctor’ sessions provided a valuable opportunity for front end users to engage with American Innovations in conversation and feedback on any topic for support. Plus the forum based approach also allowed operators to converse.

But of course it was not all just about work, with those attending meeting socially at a variety of well organised networking events. “It’s during the evening when people let their hair down that there’s a free flow of ideas and discussions,” said Chris Pimm.

Despite a nightmare return journey to the UK, delayed by torrential rain and tornados, the trip across to the US was very worthwhile, with some good contacts made and our knowledge base increased.

Thanks to our friends and colleagues at American Innovations for hosting an excellent event.
