System Upgrades in Australia
Our field engineering team work on projects all over the globe, but their latest assignment took them to what might be their most distant location yet! Australia is a country that is on most people’s buckets lists, over the last 3 weeks our Field Technician, Oliver Brent, and Electrical Design Engineer, Connor Knight have been able to tick this one off. They have been hard at work for a client in Kurnell, a suburb of Sydney, upgrading 15 Transformer Rectifiers (TRs), that were originally manufactured and installed by CPCL in 2017 and 2019.
The primary focus of this year's trip back to Australia, was to integrate our advanced Remote Monitoring and Control System (RMCS) into the existing infrastructure. Thanks to a state of the art fibre optic connection linking all 15 units back to a server PC equipped with a 4G router, the upgraded systems can now be operated remotely. This enhancement not only improves operational efficiency but also ensures real-time monitoring and control, providing our clients with greater flexibility and peace of mind.
During their downtime 'Down Under', Oli and Connor took the opportunity to explore some of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Additionally, they visited several of the regions renowned national parks, soaking in the breathtaking views and unique natural beauty.
We are proud of Oli and Connor for their dedication to the job, and hope they enjoyed their well deserved days off.
