TR Services
CPCL have developed the TRUst™ range of Transformer Rectifiers retaining quality and meeting the needs of our increasingly diverse client base. TRUst™ delivers clear options for control, monitoring and operation that will ensure any cathodic protection system is being looked after by the best in the business.
Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd’s remote monitoring and control system allows the checking of an installation’s performance from any remote computer or mobile device, giving complete freedom and versatility.
The first of the TRUst™ range features Thyristor control of all power supplies. In terms of range and features, this is the most flexible system available, meeting the most arduous of industrial specifications. Oil or air-cooled configurations are available in the following control types: Constant voltage control, constant current control, auto potential control.
Variac controlled transformer rectifiers are best for industrial solutions that require robust, trouble free operation. Oil or air-cooled configurations are available in the following control type: Constant voltage control which allows for smooth infinite adjustment between 0-100%.
Tapped transformer rectifiers for robust, low maintenance trouble free operation. Oil or air-cooled configurations are available in the following control type: constant voltage control in the following equal stepped options: 25,36,63.
Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) are ideal for low power applications, particularly concrete CP systems. Air-cooled configuration is available in the following control types: Constant voltage control, constant current control, auto potential control.
Cathodic Protection Co Ltd have developed and certified a range of oil cooled transformer rectifiers for use in hazardous areas. Certified for use in Zone 2, to IECEx, ATEX and UKEx standards, up to 700A DC, CPCL continue to offer options for modern transformer rectifier technology for all applications.

Jordan has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Manchester University and joined CPCL in March 2014. He has over 15 years’ experience in the development of remote control and monitoring systems for the cathodic protection industry.
Michael has a NVQ Level 2 in performing engineering operations and practices, and also has a CompEx Foundation qualification. He has been working within the cathodic protection industry, building, inspecting, fault finding and repairing transformer rectifiers since 2010. Michael is mainly based in our Grantham workshop however has extensive site experience worldwide.
Rob has been with CPCL since 2011. He holds a qualification in CompEx Ex12A - Design Engineers and CompEx 14 – Responsible Person. Rob has significant hands-on experience in the building, testing and installation of Transformer Rectifiers (TR), placing him in the ideal position to move into product design. As Technical Design Manager, Rob's role is to ensure customers' needs are met both commercially and technically. He has also travelled extensively to sites worldwide.
FAQs
Below you’ll find the answers to questions we most commonly get asked about regarding transformer rectifiers:
Cathodic protection rectifiers are the external power source used in impressed current cathodic protection systems (ICCP), to convert alternating current (AC), to direct current (DC). In ICCP systems, current is discharged off of the anode and onto the structure to prevent corrosion.
Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) are ideal for low power applications, particularly concrete CP systems. Air-cooled configuration is available in the following control types: Constant voltage control, constant current control, auto potential control.
Tapped transformer rectifiers for robust, low maintenance trouble free operation. Oil or Air-cooled configurations are available in the following control type: Constant voltage control in the following equal stepped options: 25,36,63.
